    The ISO 17442 standard

    defines a set of attributes or reference data of legal entities, which are the main identification elements. The LEI (Legal Entity Identifier) code itself is neutral and does not contain embedded message or country codes that may be unnecessarily complicated for users.

    The ISO 17442 standard specifies the minimum reference data that must be provided for each LEI. This data is commonly referred to as Level 1 data – who is who?

    The official name of the legal entity as recorded in the official registers, the registered address of the legal entity.
