1. New LEI, LEI Renewal or Transfer Process

1.1

To apply for an LEI number, renew an existing number, or transfer an LEI number under our management, fill in the relevant application form, submit your data and pay for the service by credit card, PayPal or Google Pay.

1.2

The applicant agrees that while submitting the form they accept the Terms and Conditions of LEI.net™. The applicant confirms they have full authority to apply for an LEI number on behalf of the Legal Entity. The applicant confirms that the data submitted is correct and that they know their contact details will be shared with the L.O.U. (Local Operating Unit) Bundesanzeiger Verlag GmbH.

1.3

The new LEI applicant gives all rights to LEI.net™ to apply for an LEI code on the Legal Entity’s behalf. LEI renewal applicants give all rights to LEI.net™ to renew an LEI on the Legal Entity’s behalf. LEI transfer applicants permit the transfer of the LEI under our management. An LEI transfer applicant understands that an LEI transfer may entail a change of L.O.U.

1.3.1

The applicant agrees that LEI.net™ may sign the Terms and Conditions of the selected L.O.U. on their behalf. The terms of service for Bundesanzeiger Verlag GmbH can be found at https://www.leireg.de/en/legal. The terms of service among L.O.U.s are very similar as they all follow GLEIF guidelines.

1.4

LEI.net™ will start the LEI registration process shortly after the client has submitted the data and made the payment. The applicant may be contacted to supply a Letter of Authorisation (Power of Attorney) or other proof confirming that they are authorised to apply for an LEI on behalf of the Legal Entity. If such authorisation is not provided, LEI.net™ cannot proceed with the application and reserves the right not to issue a refund.

1.5

LEI.net™ may also contact the customer to provide additional documents regarding the registration of the Legal Entity or proof of the person(s) authorised to represent the Legal Entity. If the applicant fails to provide such documents, LEI.net™ cannot proceed with the application and reserves the right not to issue refunds.

1.6

The LEI code will be provided as soon as possible after the payment has been made. In most cases the LEI code will be issued within 24 hours. However, in rare cases the process may take up to one week. LEI renewal or transfer processes may take up to 7 days. Once the LEI has been issued or renewed, an email containing the invoice will be sent to the applicant.

1.7

The applicant understands and agrees that the application becomes final after the data has been submitted and payment has been made. Once an application for a new LEI, renewal or transfer has been submitted and the Terms and Conditions accepted, the application cannot be revoked. If sufficient information has been provided to issue the LEI, the process cannot be stopped.

2. Contracts

If the client purchases the LEI renewal service for multiple years, LEI.net™ will cover the renewal cost for the purchased period and renew the company’s data annually in the GLEIF (Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation) database based on information available in public company registries. The client accepts that Legal Entity data may be automatically corrected according to official entity registration documents if changes are detected.

2.1

The client agrees to notify LEI.net™ if there has been a change in data that cannot be validated from public company registries (for example Level 2 data relating to parent entities). LEI.net™ will update the information through the relevant L.O.U.

2.2

If the signing authority changes during the automatic renewal period, LEI.net™ may request a new Letter of Authorisation from the appropriate signing authority. If the client fails to provide this document, LEI.net™ cannot continue with the automatic renewal until the required authorisation has been received.

2.3

If no Letter of Authorisation is provided within 60 days, LEI.net™ has the right to cancel the multiyear contract and no refunds will be issued.

2.4

Customers will be notified by email about upcoming automatic renewals. They will have a 5-day period to submit any updates to their LEI data. After this period the renewal process will begin through Bundesanzeiger Verlag GmbH. Once completed, customers will receive a confirmation email together with the invoice.
